Most weeks in Barrow County have a rhythm to them. The library branches run the same storytimes, the same clubs meet on the same nights, and the farmers market is where it always is on a Saturday morning. This page is that rhythm, in one place, so you do not have to go looking for it every week.
Anything that only happens once is on the what is happening this week page instead.
Last checked 1 October 2026. Times change, especially around holidays and school breaks. Call ahead if you are driving across the county for one of these.

Fort Yargo, which is open every day
The park is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., the office 8 to 5, and the beach area from 9 a.m. to sunset. There are 20.5 miles of trail around the 260 acre lake, bike rentals if you did not bring one, two boat ramps, disc golf, fishing, geocaching, and mini golf for a fee. Pickleball is $5 per set. A parking pass is required, and annual passes are worth it if you go often, which most people here eventually do.
The 1792 log fort is still standing on the property, built by settlers during conflict with the Creek and Cherokee. It takes ten minutes to look at and it is the oldest thing in the county you can walk up to.
